Teacher, Administrator and Author, Nancy Baldwin Carter contracted polio at age 11 but did not let her disability prevent her from achieving her educational goals. She went on to become the founder of the Nebraska Polio Survivors Association and was its first Director. In addition to her book, Of Myths and Chicken Feet: A Polio Survivor Looks at Survival, Carter also wrote newsletters and articles for Post Polio Health International.
