Marjorie Stover was born and raised in Lincoln Nebraska, daughter of H. Clyde and Creta (Warner) Filley. Both parents came from Nebraska pioneer families and so her stories reflect that influence. She married Nebraska author John F. Stover in August of 1937. The town of Filley, Nebraska, was named for Marjorie's ancestors.
