Mamie Jane Meredith had special interest in the language and social customs of the pioneers. She was published in the American Business Writing Association Bulletin and the American Quartery of English Usage. She was a close friend and supporter of Mari Sandoz in difficult times in 1930s Lincoln.

The Nebraska State Historical Association has the Mamie Jane Meredith Papers.
