A well-known late 19th and early 20th century writer of children's literature. The "Julia Augusta Schwartz Papers, 1899-1953" are in the Vassar College Library. The 1910 General Catalogue of the Officers and Graduates of Vassar College considered her a current resident of Omaha, and a resident of Omaha during her time at Vassar, 1897-1898. She moved to California in 1913.
