Dr. Reinhardt taught and practiced criminology for over forty years. He retired from the University of Nebraska in June, 1963 after 32 years of teaching. He served as the Chair of the Department of Sociology at the University of Nebraska for many years. He is best known locally for his books on Charles Starkweather. Reinhardt interviewed Starkweather in prison. Reinhardt was also a lecturer at the F.B.I. Academy. Reinhardt worked nationally and internationally with law enforcement, sociologists and psychologists and was considered to be one of the foremost authorities on crime.
