Ivy Ruckman is an award-winning author of novels for young people. Her book, The Night of the Twisters, is a fictionalized account of the June 4, 1980 Grand Island tornado--nominated for the Texas Bluebonnet Award and won the Outstanding Science Trade Book Award from the National Association of Science Teachers/Children's Book Council, as well as many other awards. In Care of Cassie Tucker is a fictional account of a farm family's life in 1899.
