Novelist and Explorer, George Allan England ran for Governor of Maine in 1912 on the Socialist Party ticket. England was a prolific writer with stories published in all of the leading American magazines of the day. He spent the last few years of his life in the New Hampshire State Hospital before his death at age 59.
