Chunksa Yuha

In old age, Chunksa Yuha moved in with writer Ruth Beebe Hill and her husband to help Hill complete her book, Hanta Yo. Hill worked with many Native American informants but the book proved very controversial with many Native American groups, who have sought to discredit the book and have also charged that Chunksa, perhaps Hill's principal informant, is not a full-blooded Dahkota Sioux, but a fraud.

When Hill and Chunksa Yuha spoke in Lincoln in 1980, there was considerable protest, described in letters in the Ruth Beebe Hill file in the Heritage Room.
