Chris Ware

Born 1967 Omaha, NE (USA)

A celebrated comic book artist who grew up in Omaha. Has had work in Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery shows, including a solo show. His work was included in a Whitney Biennial and has been shown in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and at the Brooklyn Museum.

Fantagraphics of Seattle has published eight issues of his series, including 'Quimby the Mouse,' 'Sparky's Best Comics and Stories,' 'The ACME Novelty Book of Jokes,' and 'Jimmy Corrigan, the Smartest Kid on Earth'; writes articles for the fictitious 'ACME Novelty Library.'

Heritage Room collection includes Ware's 2012 Building Stories, an unconventional graphic novel consisting of 14 different printed works in a boxed set.
