Anne Packwood

A self-described "farm woman," Anne Packwood wrote short stories at her 1913 Oliver typewriter only after her household duties were completed. She was often supervised by Squink, her little black cat.

About the possibility of writing a novel, Packwood said, "I have spent my time working on the technique of the short story, learning to reduce one from 39 to 18 pages. I don't see any reason for trying to work out a novel plot."
