Writing, including autobiography and discussion of Native Americans in American art appeared in the periodical The Redman. "Gray Wolf's Daughter," autobiographical fiction, appeared in Harper's New Monthly Magazine 99 (Nov. 1899): 860-862.
The Heritage Room copy of Zitkala Sa, Old Indian Legends, 1901, is illustrated by Angel Decora Dietz. Her paintings can also be seen in The Middle Five by Francis La Flesche.
