On the staff of the Nebraska Federal Writers' Project. Editor with Prairie Schooner from 1928 to 1972. Close associate of Lowry Wimberly. Christensen was regarded with much affection by students and colleagues. He was, however, a victim of polio and walked with considerable difficulty. Sometimes, on campus, he would fall over, and it was well known that he must be allowed to get up himself, as he would strike anyone who came to his aid with his cane.
